The San Bernardino County Department of Corrections Can Be Tricky
If you are arrested in Chino Hills, the most likely place you will be taken is the Chino Hills Police Department. After booking, you will be placed in their holding area. The Chino Hills Jail is a Type I facility, which means it has limited amenities and can hold only a few inmates at a time. Because it does not offer everything needed for an extended stay, inmates at Chino Hills Jail are held for a maximum of 96 hours. However, it is rare that an inmate will be kept that long before being transferred to a larger correctional facility. These facilities offer more amenities, but they are much more crowded and can be more dangerous.
Because you do not want to be transferred to a larger facility, the goal is to get you out of custody as fast as possible, ensuring that the transfer does not take place. Keep in mind, you do not have 96 hours to coordinate this; in many cases, inmates will be transferred out of Chino Hills Jail within a few hours, not four days. Also understand that processing times at the larger facilities are much longer, which means that the bail process will take much longer than it would at the Chino Hills Jail.
Of course, if you are transferred, we don’t want you to lose hope. We know the San Bernardino County detention centers well and can still speed up the process for you. Whether you are at Central Detention Center, High Desert Detention Center, or West Valley Detention Center, we can come post bail and get you out of custody.

Paying for Your Bail Bond
When you choose Herbert Bail Bonds, the process of paying for bail is easy. We are flexible with payment, taking both money and various forms of collateral. Your payment to us is a fraction of the cost of your bail, either 10% or 8%, depending on the circumstances. To be eligible for the 8% fee, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- The arrested party has retained a private criminal defense attorney.
- A party to the transaction is a member of a workers’ union
- A party to the transaction is a veteran or active member of the United States Military.
In addition to accepting collateral, we also offer flexible financing and repayment options. In some cases, a cosigner will be needed.
