Los Angeles County Bail Bonds

No one plans to need a bail bondsman. And that means that when you do, you are in a hurry. Do not risk picking the wrong bail bonds company; call Herbert Bail Bonds. With more than 45 years in the business, as well as 24/7 availability, we can get you back to life to normal as fast as possible.

What Is a Bail Bond?

A bail bond can be broken down into two parts: the posting of the bail, and the bond. The first part is the posting of bail; this essentially functions as a loan, allowing you to get yourself or your loved one out of jail. The second part is the bond, which ensures that the arrested party will return to any future court dates; if they do not show, they will forfeit their right to their bail money and will have a warrant issued for their arrest.
When an individual is arrested, they will either be denied bail or their bail amount will be set. In many cases, bonds are too expensive to pay for in full. Even when it isn’t very high, the arrested party or their friends or family may not have the money on hand. Bail bonds eliminate the stress of finding the money to pay for bail.

Los Angeles County Department of Corrections Can Be Tricky

In a city of millions of people such as Los Angeles, you can expect that the department of corrections is pretty busy. Their case load alone demands that they process things as fast as they possibly can. And while this means things run relatively smoothly on their end, this is not always the best for the individuals who have been arrested.

Holding facilities such as local jails, do not want to hold onto individuals for long. Instead, they work to move them to one of the larger jails such as county jails, as soon as they have been processed. Men that have been arrested are sent to Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Downtown Los Angeles, while  women are sent to Lynwood Jail. Once you’re arrested and transferred to a county jail, the bail process takes much longer than it does at a local jail. Just getting booked into these facilities can take over 6 hours, and you can expect that long or longer for the bail process to be completed.

And this means that time is of the essence when arrested in Los Angeles County. When you contact Herbert Bail Bonds, we immediately go to work, ensuring that you or your loved one is not transferred to one of the larger facilities. And if the arrested party is already there, we can work to minimize the amount of time it takes to complete the process and get them back to their normal life.

We Have the Experience You Need

What allows Herbert Bail Bonds to expedite this process? In short, our experience. We have been working with the Los Angeles County Department of Corrections for decades, developing the connections needed to make the system work for you. No matter which level of law enforcement you need us to work with — LAPD, Los Angeles County Sheriff, and even U.S. Immigration Enforcement — we can get the job done.

We Work to Make the Process Convenient and for You

You can come to us or we can come to you. Our bail bondsmen are willing to meet with you at your home or at your holding facility to start the process, so you only need to come to our office if you want to. We can even make arrangements by fax or by phone if it is more convenient.

And because we offer fax and phone service, you do not need to be in Los Angeles County to work with us. We know that not everyone who finds themselves in this situation has local friends or family. No matter where you are in the United States, we can help you get your loved one out of holding and back into their usual routine.

In addition to our standard bail bond service, we also offer other services to those in Los Angeles County that can make the process more convenient. We can connect you with private investigators to help you make your case in court, assist you with arrest warrants, and even offer bail reduction assistance to help make the process more affordable for you.

Paying for Your Bail Bond

The premium for a bail bond is 10%. This amount is set by the California Department of Insurance and all bail companies operating within the state must abide by this rule. However, the premium can be reduced to 8% if the case meets one of the criteria below:

  • The arrested party has retained a private criminal defense attorney.
  • A party to the transaction is a member of a workers’ union.
  • A party to the transaction is a veteran or active member of the United States Military.

To help you afford the bail bond, we offer flexible bail bond financing as well as payment plan options. We are also flexible when it comes to collateral. We approach each case individually; in some cases, a co-signer is sufficient. However, when the bail is set at a high amount, collateral will be needed. Anything with sufficient resale value that you own will do. Real estate will be considered based on equity.

Get Out of Jail and Back to Life

The last thing anyone wants is to spend time behind bars. Not only is the experience itself less than desirable, it prevents you from attending to important parts of your life. The longer you stay in holding, the greater the disruption to your life. We can get you out of jail and back into your routine while also giving you the chance to fight your case properly — something not easily done when behind bars.
