Bail Bonds Services for Lucerne Valley

Being arrested can be scary, confusing, and discouraging. Even with family and friends in your corner, you may not always have the funds available to get bailed out of jail. Even if your family has the money, they may not be able to afford parting with it for the duration of your court case. However, if you call on a reliable bail bondsman, they can pay your bail for you and get you back to your life.

Herbert Bail Bonds has served the community of Lucerne Valley for 45 years. During this time, we have cultivated professional relationships with all of the holding facilities in San Bernardino County and the rest of the Southland. We have helped countless people in Lucerne Valley get out of jail and back to their families with minimal disruption to their lives. With our strong background in law enforcement, we know exactly how to make the system work in your favor.

Basic facts about Bail Bonds

Whenever the police arrest someone, they take that person to a local jail for processing. At such a time, the court assigns that person a bail amount appropriate for their alleged crime. Several factors can influence the amount of the bail, including the individual’s record, flight risk, and the severity of the crime. Minor crimes tend to require smaller amounts, while serious felonies warrant higher amounts. If the crime or flight risk is severe enough, the court may deny bail to the individual, though such cases are rare.

If the suspect (or a loved one acting on his/her behalf) can provide (i.e. post) the bail amount to the court, they will release the suspect, under the condition that he or she returns to court for all required appearances. Should the arrested party fail to return, the court issues a warrant for his or her arrest. In such cases, the bail amount goes into default, which means that unless the suspect can be persuaded to return to court (or arrested and returned) within a certain time frame, the court will keep the bail.

Most people cannot afford bail. Even when a family member has the money, that person often cannot get it to the arresting agency fast enough to avoid complications that come with being locked up. Besides this, most family members and friends would prefer not to have their money tied up in a court case, which can drag on for months. However, an experienced bail bondsman can quickly locate the arrested party and get them out of custody, thus allowing the family member or friend to hold on to their cash.

Each bail bond has two components: the bail, and the bond. For a small fee, the bondsman pays the bail amount to the court, which in turn orders the suspect’s release. However, this bail amount becomes a loan for the suspect’s friend or family member, where the bondsman is the creditor. Thus, the bond is a promise (made by the borrowing party) that the suspect will attend all future court dates. If the suspect fails to attend, the bail is forfeited, and the borrower then becomes responsible for paying the bondsman back. In addition, the bondsman may employ bounty hunters to track down the suspect and return him to jail, in order to avoid forfeiting his bail.

Navigating the San Bernardino County Department of Corrections

When police arrest an individual in Lucerne Valley, the arresting agency quickly processes the party and sends him or her to a county holding facility. In the case of Lucerne Valley, CA, that facility is usually the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto. Once the individual reaches the county facility, the county then processes him/her. In certain cases however, they may be transferred to another location, usually West Valley Detention Center. An experienced bondsman like Herbert Bail Bonds will know how to negotiate your loved one’s release before they are transferred.

However, even if your loved one has already been moved, don’t worry. Herbert Bail Bonds will locate them quickly and go right to the holding officials to negotiate their release. Our ties to local law enforcement agencies enable us to get fast and accurate information, and our connections with the various county facilities enable us to expedite the process. The sooner you call us, the sooner you are back to your life.

Count on Our Experience

Never take your freedom for granted. During your most desperate hour of need, the last thing you want to do is entrust your freedom to an inexperienced bondsman who doesn’t know the industry like we do. With over 45 years of experience serving the community of Lucerne Valley, we have gained critical experience needed to get you out of jail quickly. As the saying goes, there is no substitute for experience.

By making the bail process simple, we take the stress and worry out of your mind. Upon arrival at the holding facility, we will have filled out the paperwork, and have the bail money in-hand. It takes an experienced veteran to convince county holding officials to process your paperwork quickly, and we know just how to do it. We can even travel personally to your residence to get your signature and the fee for the bail bond. In addition, we also know how to process payments via fax or phone in cases where your loan guarantor is not local.

We can also help you post bail on your own, and help you request that bail be returned once your case is closed. In the past we have been able to recommend an attorney or a private investigator for some of our clients. Over the years, we have found ways to not only help you get your freedom back, but win your case and keep it.

Paying for Your Bail Bond

The fee for a bail bond is 10% of the bail amount. The state determines this amount, so no bondsman can charge you more or less. The state allows a bondsman to reduce that fee to 8%, if any of the following criteria are met:

-The arrested party has retained a criminal defense attorney.

-A party to the transaction is a member of a workers’ union.

-A party to the transaction is a member of the United States Military.

If the bail bond fee is too high, we do offer flexible financing and payment plans. If the bail amount is high, we may require collateral. If we do, we are willing to accept anything with sufficient resale value, provided the guarantor owns it outright. We try to provide you a variety of options, because the last thing we want is for money to be an obstacle to your freedom.

Get Back to Life

Herbert Bail Bonds remains devoted to providing the best possible bail services for the residents of Lucerne Valley. When you are in custody, your time is precious. You can expect us to provide you with the same personal attention we would give to a member of our own family.
